Special features
The twin-screw oceangoing tug SIMSON was built in 1973 by the shipyard F. Schichau GmbH Bremerhaven for the Bugsier-, Reederei- und Bergungs- A.G., Hamburg. Length: 77.4 m, width: 13.2 m, draught: 5.82 m, tonnage: 1.599 GRT, powered by two Diesel engines with 4,400 hp each, top speed 18.2 knots, bollard pull: 125 t. The tug was sold in Valletta, Malta, in 1994 and converted into a luxury yacht. Signed and dated "2011", provenance: private collection from Northern Germany.
