The oil painting is in an immaculate condition, cleaned and newly varnished as well as newly framed with a silver wood frame. Adolf Bock was supported by emperor Wilhelm II. and later on by Adolf Hitler, who appointed him professor in 1944. Bock was one of the most famous marine painters of his time aside Hans Bohrdt, Claus Bergen and Willy Stöwer. Works by him rarely show up on the art market. Signed and dated "1931".
